Chief Engineer
Description:
The Chief Engineer (CE) shall be capable of collaborating on designs, able to assist with requirement deconstruction, and review work products to ensure sound technical solutions.
• The CE shall be able to provide feedback to the team on the quality of solutions and recommend improvements or changes if required.
• The CE will work with the government to provide competent technical leadership and responsible project direction through successful performance of a variety of detailed, diverse elements of project management tasks.
• The CE will direct completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints, while interfacing with client counterparts when appropriate.
Minimum Education
• Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas, from an accredited university/college:
• Computer Science,
• Computer Engineering,
• Software Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering,
• Computer and Information Security,
• Computer Security, and/or
• Network Administration;
Or
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related scientific/technical field.
Minimal Experience
• The CE shall have eight (8) years of experience providing competent technical leadership in designing, architecting, and supporting technical systems.
• The CE shall be able to collect requirements and turn them into designs and action plans for the team to execute.
• The CE shall be capable of reviewing technical capabilities for use with new requirements. The CE shall have expert-level experience with designing, architecting, and supporting both Cisco and Linux routing enterprise systems.
• They shall have an understanding of firewalls, routing, switching and telecommunications systems.
• The CE shall have knowledge of various Virtual Private Networks (VPN) technologies such as Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted tunnels.
• The CE shall be able to integrate Cloud Provider services such Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Dynamic Domain Name System (DNS), and web hosting.
• Additional education, training, certifications, or work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree or work experience at the government’s discretion.
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret clearance required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $150,000 - $185,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
