Duties

Functions as the base Equipment Review Approval Authority in verifying and validating equipment requests in accordance with established Allowance Source Codes (ASC), and completing actions as required for Equipment Authorization Inventory Data (EAID) accounting. Identifies, coordinates and monitors War Readiness Materials (WRM) and mobility equipment requirements to ensure all authorizations are on hand, on order, or included in appropriate budget document. Ensures valid Unit Type Codes (UTC), Use Codes, and WRM codes are assigned. Provides the responsible officer and the responsible officer's group and wing commanders with a written report that identifies strengths, findings and observations. Maintains a suspense system to ensure replies and corrective action are accomplished within 30 days. Reviews replies to ensure noted discrepancies are corrected. Notifies the LRS Commander and responsible officer's group and wing commanders, in writing, of actions taken. Measures schedule effectiveness to ensure organizational visits are conducted annually and brief schedule effectiveness to Materiel Management Flight Chief and LRS/CC. Ensures accountability of equipment assets purchased with the GPC and/or through Base Contracting. Ensures organizational commanders account for and control budget code 9 NFx assets valued over $ 2,500.00 and those that are pilferable regardless of dollar value. Ensures assets are accounted for on the Organizational Visibility List (R15) and are inventoried at least annually or upon change of custodian. Manages all equipment items with the exception of vehicles. Provides technical and administrative support to Accountable Officers, Commanders, responsible officers, and responsible persons in the control and accountability of Class VII and Class IX (within Air Force Equipment Management System and Expeditionary Combat Support System) equipment assets in the wing. Interfaces with the proposed Air Force Fuels, Vehicles and Equipment Support Agency (AFFVESA) in regards to equipment management. Advises approving and/or appointing authorities on equipment policy and procedures affecting lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed government property (Class II, VII & IX). Coordinates and directs deployment and redeployment of Class VII assets between Accountable Officers and Responsible Officers/Persons. Duties and responsibilities are prescribed in AFMAN 23-110, AFI 23-111 and AFI 23-302.

  • Current members of the RIANG, or current Military Members willing/eligible to transfer into the RIANG. Must hold current grade of E-3 to E-7.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a military assignment in the Rhode Island Air National Guard (RIANG) prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate transfer into the RI Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS :
  • E3 - E7 (Your rank MUST be included somewhere within your resume.)
  • For Dual-Status Technician positions service affiliation under Title 32 USC 709 is required.
  • Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Demonstrated experience researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements. Knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Demonstrated experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.

Persons appointed with Indefinite status may be separated when their services are no longer needed. Should the need for the Indefinite time limitations placed on this position no longer exist, the Indefinite Appointment may potentially be converted to permanent action without further competition. Candidate may still be required to successfully complete a trial period.
