Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an O&M Network Engineer to support a national leader in secure systems for a federal partner located in McLean, VA. The O&M Network Engineer will design, configure, and maintain complex network systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with customer and Microsoft teams to ensure secure, resilient network operations.
Responsibilities of the O&M Network Engineer include:
· Deliver technical presentations and capture customer requirements
· Design and configure network systems and assist with infrastructure deployment
· Perform root cause analysis and resolve network issues
· Implement patches and configuration changes across network devices
· Develop documentation for systems and objectives
· Collaborate with customer and vendor teams to support technical strategies
· Ensure compliance with security and control objectives
Qualifications for the O&M Network Engineer include:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5-8 years in network engineering
· Expertise in network device configuration and CLI navigation
· Strong knowledge of WAN/Internet transport and routing (BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN)
· Proficiency with Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols and network mapping
· Experience with cloud networking (Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute)
· Familiarity with cloud orchestration and network device management
· Understanding of Layer 1 technologies (cable plant, circuits)
· Knowledge of network security methodologies (STIGs, KG's, red/black transport)
· Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Compensation for the O&M Network Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000 depending on experience
