Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Project Engineer/Systems Engineer Senior to support United States Space Force (USSF) in developing and deploying defensive cyber capabilities in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) and other Space agencies. Role and Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineer with MTSI, you focus on technical understanding of defensive cyber capabilities that we help produce, as well as the various USSF mission systems to which our capabilities are deployed. You will team with multiple Project Managers/Coordinators to be the technical lead of a small matrixed team, coordinating with the mission system owners to deploy the capabilities at various sites on various space mission systems. These deployment efforts are fast-paced micro-projects, requiring smart, adaptable, engaging technical leaders to plan, schedule, and execute the deployments.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $145,000/year to $175,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Review, analyze, and understand technical documentation/baselines for our capabilities and various mission systems.
- Analyze and develop network and system topologies to meet operational requirements.
- Analyze and develop detailed rack diagrams to ensure proper system integration and alignment with technical specifications
- Communicate strong technical understanding to mission system owners and internal client leadership.
- Lead teams on capability deployments, may include travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
- Provide technical information for metrics reporting to promote efficiency and continuous process improvement to deliver capabilities faster.
Qualifications Required:
- Engineering/technical expertise:
- Background in engineering fields relevant to space systems or associated ground systems Experience with Data Analytics
- KPI and Metrics creation and reporting
- Entrepreneurial and Motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective organizational skills
- Planning and Scheduling
Required Experience:
- 10 +years' experience
- Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
- Experience with Defensive Cyber Operations (SSC/SZWO) program office -
Education:
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science; MA/MS desired; with MS/MA, 10 years' experience required
Clearance:
- Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired.
Location/Travel Requirements:
- Place of work is Colorado Springs, remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel up to 30%
