Position Description:
Prime Solutions Group (PSG), Inc. is seeking a DevOps Intern to join our high-performing DevSecOps team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development pipelines, cloud-based infrastructure, and secure development practices within a defense and national security environment. Ideal candidates will be enrolled in a STEM program and possess curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for automation and software development.
This is a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding opportunity to deliver enterprise-scale solutions while mentoring with top technical talent and directly impacting U.S. national security. This internship offers a practical, mentored experience in modern software engineering operations and practices. You will work alongside engineers supporting mission-critical systems while learning foundational skills needed for future full-time employment in DevSecOps roles.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
- Help automate software build and test environments using scripting tools.
- Shadow engineers and contribute to software containerization efforts using Docker or similar technologies.
- Observe infrastructure-as-code deployment methods with Terraform or Ansible.
- Participate in internal team meetings, sprint planning, and SCRUM updates.
- Help maintain documentation related to software tools, scripts, and build instructions.
- Conduct research on emerging DevSecOps tools and best practices.
- Perform assigned tasks under close supervision and with regular feedback.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
- Basic understanding of Linux command-line operations
- Basic understanding of Git version control
- Basic understanding of Scripting or programming in Python, Bash, or similar
- Strong interest in DevOps concepts, automation, and cloud-native technologies.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning.
Preferred Skills Or Experience:
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Coursework or project experience with Agile/SCRUM.
- Interest in cybersecurity, automation or cloud infrastructure.
