Description
SAIC has a Full-Time Position opening for a Facility Operations Shift Lead to work to support the NCCIPSv2 Contract. The National Center for Critical Information Processing and Storage (NCCIPS) is a federal shared services facility, managed by the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). NCCIPS provides facilities support to meet the requirements of multiple federal agency data centers and manages those relationships via Interagency Agreements. NCCIPS is a 200,000 sq. ft. secure facility situated on a 64-acre campus within NASA Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi. This position is an on-site position located at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.

The duties for the Facility Operations Shift Lead include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist Facility Operations Shift Supervisor leading 7x24x365 Data Center Operations staff including electrical, mechanical, fire and access control.
- Monitor and control data center equipment and systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, access control and life-safety systems, Building Automation System (BAS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), etc.) per data center and OEM standard operating procedures, processes and related documentation, quality assurance and safety standards. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain and distribute the daily log of events. Document information and assist in producing Incident Reports for any unusual occurrences.
- Requires ability to work rotating day & night shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Staff may be required to work overtime during infrastructure emergencies or natural disasters such as hurricanes.
- Maintain and update records including Preventative maintenance, hazardous material inventory and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), safety training, etc.
- Be able to perform first aid and CPR with AED after training. Be comfortable with the use of hand fire extinguishers after training.
- Ensure that employees and visitors follow all safety and security rules and procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required/Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Familiarity with the operation of on-site installed systems, including Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) mechanical plants, electrical distribution, fire alarm and suppression, access control, BAS, SCADA, etc.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibility directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in the job description.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise 4 to 6 employees and make critical operational decisions pertaining to facility operations.
- Demonstrated high degree of personal accountability and discretion, ability to work as part of diverse, multi-functional teams.
- Must be a good written and verbal communicator capable of working with all levels of management.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
- Must be fully ambulatory to accomplish data center rounds.
- Candidates must be able to distinguish colors in order to observe alarm indicator lights.
Education/Training/Certifications:
- High School diploma plus additional technical training equivalent to a technical Associates Degree (3 or more years demonstrated hands-on experience with on-site installed systems may be substituted for technical degree).
U.S. Citizenship is REQUIRED.
- Must be able to obtain a DOD Interim Secret clearance prior to employment. Continued employment is contingent that the employee obtains and maintains a full Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time.
