Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
Successful completion of at least 2 full years of graduate education
OR
Successful completion of a master's degree
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
***Education must be directly related to the work of the position.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.

Some walking, bending, and lifting are required when setting up for a different measurement system. A great deal of upper body and arm movements are required. Carrying standards and test equipment is required to move items around for test and calibration.
Some travel may be required occasionally to attend meetings, provide technical expertise and gain experience/training.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. May be required to work overtime. May require 2nd and 3rd shift assignment during periods of heavy workload.

- You will diagnose equipment malfunction through the use of system analysis, test equipment, and schematics.
- You will perform final technical operations and verify that the system, equipment, or component is performing within designated certification parameters.
- You will operate and analyze equipment/systems to diagnose and isolate discrepancies which cannot be located and corrected through established procedures.
- You will compile records of system/equipment failures, actions taken, and costs involved to make recommendations in correctly operating the system/equipment and suggest cost savings innovations.
