Duties
This position is located at the 162nd Wing in Tucson, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is: to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect, and assists local, state, or federal law enforcement in investigations, arrests and/or detention, or apprehension, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions. These duties must be coordinated with local law enforcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.
Education
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

- ARIZONA AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard, in a military position assigned to 162WG.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guar, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate all security forces vehicles and installed equipment.
- Position is UTC tasked and is subject to rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Incumbent(s) of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
- Incumbent is required to obtain first responder training/certifications in CPR techniques, self-aid buddy care, and first aid on the job and maintain annually.
- Must obtain and maintain a government travel card. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
- The maximum entry age for DoD Law Enforcement is 37. An individual not appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37 will not be originally appointed or assigned to these positions. (Cont.)

- The employee is required to properly carry, maintain, load, unload and fire various weapons. The employee will have resource protection (weapons and ammunition) responsibilities that could include the use of deadly force.
