Job Description
Overview
Provide OM&R for HVAC/R systems and ICS base wide. OM&R shall include regular inspection, operational testing, and balancing, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC/R systems such as and not limited to: Chillers, air handlers, compressors, chilled water pumps, valve actuators, electronic dampers, water and air temperature sensors, water flow switches, air differential pressure switches, fan coil units, Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units, and direct digital controls (DDC).
Responsibilities
• Shall perform P.M. scheduled maintenance IAW manufacturer’s specifications and applicable codes and regulations.
• Shall operate a chemical water treatment program for all closed-loop HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, such as in a chilled water system.
• Shall operate a comprehensive Refrigerant Recovery Program to ensure the proper handling, containment, and management of refrigerants in compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and best practices.
• Shall maintain and adhere to applicable technical orders and good commercial practices for all maintenance actions to include requesting parts, receiving parts, installing, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing Chiller equipment.
• Shall provide written reports after the completions of all inspections, maintenance, repairs, tests, and certifications of each system or component.
• Responsible for following a comprehensive quality and safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
• Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
• Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment, and tools).
• Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• High School Diploma required.
• Shall provide documentation (certificate, diploma, etc.) proving personnel attendance of in-residence training for HVAC/R systems.
• Shall provide an EPA 608 Universal Certification (Core, small appliances (Type I), high-pressure appliances (Type II), and low-pressure appliances (Type III)) is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in industrial chilled water systems and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively during course of instruction.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in Computer Room Air Conditioning Systems (CRAC) and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively during course of instruction.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport.
• Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and able to drive with a manual transmission.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge.
• Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
• Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear.
Experience:
• A minimum of five years of experience in the operations, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment. Primary equipment responsible for is identified below:
• AquaForce carrier chillers air cooled 80- 300 tons.
• York chillers air cooled 80- 300 tons.
• VRF splits Units 17-30 tons.
• Liebert Crac units chilled water / refrigerant types.
• Petra chillers/ DX units 75 -100 tons.
• Refrigeration Copeland units.
• VFD’s.
• Chill water supply pumps.
** Location is in Doho, Qatar
** They will go through 3 days of orientation in Panama City, FL, then will deploy to Qatar - all travel and expenses are covered.
** MUST have an active secret clearance
** They will live in the barracks on the base (basically living in a dorm room), meals are provided
** Work visas can take 2-3 months to get - once they get one, they can rent an apartment, buy / lease a car, and bring family over.
** Doho is a good sized city and a short Uber ride away to get a good dinner, see a movie, etc.
** Candidates must be U.S. nationals willing to commit to at least 1 year in Qatar
** Salary is paid monthly and is based on a 48 work-week. The anticipated weekly hours is 72 hours - and OT is paid for all hours in excess of 48.
** There is a completion bonus of ~$9,500 for completing the 1-year commitment.
** Vacation allowance of $3,000, paid in 2 installments
** 192 hours of vacation / PTO per year.
