MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Linux Engineer, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the customer's mission.
• Maintain and manage Linux systems, including performing regular updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system performance.
• Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, access controls, vulnerability assessments, and STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides) compliance.
• Develop and utilize automation tools and scripts to enhance operational efficiency and minimize manual intervention.
• Manage and ensure consistency in system configurations and compliance with corporate standards.
• Troubleshoot complex system hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
• Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Linux Engineer must have:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering roles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation.
• Basic knowledge of containerization and container orchestration.
• Solid understanding of network protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, ICMP, SSH, and SNMP.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Networking, VLANs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and addressing schemes.
• Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments.
REQUIRED
• Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret and SCI eligible
• Location: Onsite
• Required: DoD 8140 IAT II compliant
