Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems' C4ISR team is looking for a proven and experienced Systems Engineer to support a one‑of‑a‑kind Cross Business Area campaign that exemplifies our commitment to our OneLM Strategy.
The Work
The Innovations Team is the "ideas engine" that discovers, evaluates, and injects breakthrough technologies into the Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) stack. The Systems Engineer will be the technical driver for technology trade‑studies, rapid‑prototype explorations, and alternative‑solution assessments that enable the Detection Prediction Response Recovery workflow. This role works side‑by‑side with the Innovations Lead, Lead Systems AWS Infrastructure Architect, AI/ML engineers, the Advisory Board, and external research partners.

Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of systems‑engineering experience in aerospace/defense or high‑tech environments; ≥2 years leading technical trade studies or technology‑insertion activities
- B.S. in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (M.S. preferred) or equivalent experience
Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive consensus on technology selections.
Excellent written and verbal skills; able to translate complex technical analyses into concise executive briefs and clear engineering documentation.
Desired Skills:
Direct experience with continuous‑innovation programs (e.g., DARPA, AFRL, Skunk‑Works‑style technology insertion).
Experience integrating AI/ML pipelines (SageMaker Feature Store, model‑serving) into system‑level architectures and evaluating their impact on latency, power, and safety.
Familiarity with AWS Well‑Architected Framework and ability to incorporate cost‑modeling into trade‑study scoring.
Background working with non‑DoD commercial customers that have high‑security requirements.
Additional certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, CISSP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
