Kentro is hiring an experienced Senior Lean-Agile Specialist to lead enterprise transformation and build sustainable agile capability. This is not a consulting-only role-you will actively serve in operational SAFe roles (RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner/Manager) while coaching others and driving cultural change. This "player-coach" approach ensures credibility through demonstrated excellence while building organizational capability.

You'll champion the lean-agile mindset, take a systems view of agility, optimize flow across multiple teams, build strong communities, and deliver measurable business outcomes. You must be comfortable facilitating all lean-agile events.

Responsibilities:

Serve in Operational SAFe Roles
  • Execute as RTE: Facilitate ART events, manage program execution, drive continuous improvement
  • Execute as Scrum Master: Coach teams, facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments
  • Execute as Product Owner/Manager: Prioritize backlogs, define features, maximize value delivery
  • Model best practices while building capability in others

Lead Transformation & Optimize Flow
  • Design and execute scaled agile transformation roadmaps
  • Optimize flow across multiple teams and value streams to reduce toil
  • Identify innovative solutions by drawing patterns from agile frameworks
  • Interface effectively between agile and non-agile parts of the enterprise
  • Remove systemic impediments and drive process improvements

Coach & Build Capability
  • Coach executives, leaders, and teams in lean-agile principles and practices
  • Mentor RTEs, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners in advanced practices
  • Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and SAFe certification courses
  • Build sustainable communities of practice for continuous learning
  • Foster inter-team collaboration and holistic alignment

Drive Data-Driven Improvement
  • Establish measurement frameworks using flow metrics, OKRs, and KPIs
  • Implement hypothesis-driven approaches and experimentation
  • Drive improvements using insights from data and metrics
  • Track and report transformation progress and business outcomes

Facilitate Large-Scale Events
  • Plan and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning events
  • Lead Inspect & Adapt workshops and value stream mapping
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination meetings and alignment sessions

Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, MIS, or related field
  • 10+ years using Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe, and other agile frameworks at scale
  • Hands-on experience in at least two operational roles: RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Product Manager
  • Led enterprise transformations across 50+ cross-functional teams
  • Delivered measurable business results (quantifiable improvements in speed, quality, collaboration, cost)
  • Coached executives, leaders, RTEs, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners
  • Facilitated large-scale SAFe events across multiple Agile Release Train
  • SAFe SPC or SPCT with minimum 6 years active certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • SPCT certification
  • Highly valued: Additional SAFe (RTE, Lean Portfolio Manager, PO/PM), Change Management certification
  • Experience as Release Train Engineer managing ARTs
  • Formal change management or design thinking training
  • Product management or product ownership background
  • Teaching experience (university level or professional training)
  • Lean Six Sigma or process improvement certification
  • Published thought leadership or conference speaking

Clearance Requirement:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
