MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator to join our team in Fayetteville, NC.
In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by providing technical leadership and system administration expertise to support dynamic, secure, and highly available IT environments. You will maintain operational readiness of systems supporting key mission functions and help drive innovative solutions that meet evolving customer needs.

In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by providing technical leadership and system administration expertise to support dynamic, secure, and highly available IT environments. You will maintain operational readiness of systems supporting key mission functions and help drive innovative solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installing, configuring, and supporting an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
- Monitor performance, perform capacity planning, and make infrastructure recommendations.
- Implement and maintain system security in accordance with DoW STIGs and cybersecurity best practices.
- Create and maintain documentation including standard operating procedures and system configurations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and support new systems and capabilities.
- Support vulnerability management and incident response efforts.
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as required.
- Overseeing system patching, security hardening, and performance tuning.
- Managing complex server projects, developing and implementing system administration policies, and serves as an escalation point for all server-related issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field OR High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
- 9+ years position specific, relevant experience
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
- 4+ years of experience leading systems administration teams or projects
- Experience with system hardening and compliance with DoW STIGs
- Proficient with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) to automate administrative tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security+ CE, or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
- Professional-level certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE)
- Extensive experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher
- Experience supporting systems in DoW or IC environments
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
