MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in Fayetteville, NC.
In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by applying your technical leadership and systems engineering expertise to support complex DoD systems and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will span the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from concept to sustainment, as you ensure solutions are effectively integrated, secure, and aligned with mission requirements.

In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by applying your technical leadership and systems engineering expertise to support complex DoD systems and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will span the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from concept to sustainment, as you ensure solutions are effectively integrated, secure, and aligned with mission requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading systems engineering efforts throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, testing, and deployment
- Designing and developing solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
- Performing systems management and integration functions for enterprise-level IT systems.
- Conducting detailed trade studies and technical assessments to recommend optimal system configurations
- As part of the C5ISR Team, leads systems engineering and integration activities for complex C5ISR systems.
- Supervising the development of the system architecture, managing the requirements baseline, and directing the integration and test strategy.
- Providing expert guidance on systems engineering and MBSE best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field OR High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
- 9+ years of systems engineering experience, preferably in DoD or mission-critical environments
- Experience with full system development lifecycle and system-of-systems architecture
- Strong understanding of systems integration, performance analysis, and interface design
- Proficiency with tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or similar MBSE tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification
- Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices
- Knowledge of cyber security principles and compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST)
- Prior experience supporting Special Operations or tactical systems
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
