Job: Director of IT | The Sentinel

As Director of IT, you are obsessed with network and infrastructure defense-in-depth. You
spend your free time red-teaming internal networks and conjuring secure environments
from seemingly out of thin air. You are a builder by nature and no infrastructure challenge is
either too small or too complex to tackle. Your light reading favorites include “NIST Special
Publication 800-171” and the “CIS Cybersecurity Quarterly”.

What You'll Do:
As the Director of IT, you will be responsible developing and managing a cutting-edge IT
infrastructure to meet the demands of our high-performance team while also protecting
against threats and attacks for controlled unclassified information systems, both on
premise and in the cloud. One of the critical factors for achieving success in this position is
finding an individual who possesses equal ease and confidence in balancing the day-to-
day while planning for what comes tomorrow.
Flexibility is key and no one day will be the same as the next. You will build up the IT
department and be the go-to resource internally and externally with our vendors. Some key
responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary IT point of contact and manage daily IT operations.
• Develop and maintain unclassified networks and systems.
• Design and implement network, software, and computer systems both on prem and
in Azure Government Cloud and GCC High environments.
• Oversee creation and maintenance of System Security Plans according to NIST 800-
171 and CMMC
• Develop new security controls to meet updated standards and business needs.
• Develop and execute incident response plans as necessary.
• Translate business needs into IT and information security program strategies and
execute them accordingly.
• Propose and maintain budgets for company-wide IT and information security
resources.
• Design, implement, and maintain corporate network infrastructure (cloud-based
and on-prem) ensuring required compliance within corporate and industrial security
frameworks.
• Collaborate across various corporate departments to identify and address IT policy
and system requirements and needs.
• Manage existing vendors while also identifying new technologies and vendors to
meet the company's IT and information security needs.
• Work closely with our MSP to monitor corporate infrastructure health and
requirements.
Qualifications/What You’ll Bring:
• At least 5 years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 GCC High (GCCH) and Azure
Government environments.
• Previous hands-on involvement in the design, implementation, and ongoing
maintenance of enterprise-level IT systems and networks.
• Expertise in networking and security configuration of firewalls, routers, switches,
SIEMS and VPNs.
• Expertise in server deployment and group policy management in cloud and on-prem
environments.
• In-depth knowledge of security standards and frameworks, including NIST SP 800,
FedRAMP, and CMMC, ensuring comprehensive understanding and adherence.
• Prior experience developing SSPs, assessing, and handling audits for NIST SP 800 or
CMMC environments is a must.
• Expertise in Windows and Linux administration in a corporate environment.
• Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Nice to Haves:
• Prior experience in a high-level IT role for a Federal Contractor.
• Hands on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, PowerShell, and related security
tools (Defender, Intune, Sentinel, AIP, DLP, etc.).
• Technical certifications in Azure.
• Experience with macOS administration.
Education/Credentials:
• A degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related
field
• US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government
security clearance.
• Preferred - TS/SCI clearance
• Minimum - Secret
