We're currently on the lookout for a Staff Accountant to become a vital part of our internal team here at BOOST supporting our clients. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, this role entails managing accounts payable and receivable entries, ensuring accurate application of payments, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and providing invaluable support to our Seniors during month-end close procedures. A crucial aspect of this position involves managing multiple client accounts, fostering strong client-team relationships, and consistently delivering excellence in quality, communication, and proactivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting / Finance Support for Government Contracting Clients:
Process vendor invoices into accounting system
Generate & submit customer invoices into accounting system
Prepare & process payrolls
Data entry and coding of credit card and bank account transactions
Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
Investigate, track, and resolve any accounting or documentation discrepancies
Support the accounting close process via reconciliation of accounts & related documentation
Assist with maintaining up to date client SOP documentation.
Undertake any additional duties as assigned
Client Interaction:
Ensure clear and timely communication with clients
Build strong client relationships via responsiveness and attention to detail
Maintain proactive communication with team members, clients, and leadership
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors in accounting, finance, or related field is highly preferred. Alternatively, seven years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree
Must be a US Citizen
Proficiency in MS Office Excel
1+ years experience with both accounts payable and accounts receivable
1+ years experience with bank reconciliations
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience in a GovCon accounting environment & familiarity with FAR & DCAA compliance highly preferred
Experience with one or more common accounting systems used by government contractors (QuickBooks, Unanet, Costpoint, etc.) required; Experience in multiple systems is preferred
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively support multiple projects and timelines efficiently
Initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills a must
Salary Range: $65K-$80K (Salary commensurate with experience)
