Title: Programmer/Software Developer

Introduction
The Canada Education Grant System (CESG) is addressing critical technical debt by seeking the expertise of a skilled professional to assist in a vital remediation process. This initiative is essential as CESG faces the end of Oracle Support for its front-end application, which currently relies on Oracle Forms and Reports. The project aims to replace the existing interface with a modern solution that meets departmental Accessibility standards, aligning with best practices for web development. The redesign and development of the web application will be prioritized while maintaining the existing backend Oracle database.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Reliability Clearance is required
- Proficiency in PLSQL code and stored procedures for data manipulation
- Experience with .NET services in C# and automated testing
- Strong understanding of the Government of Canada's Common Look and Feel (CLF) and the WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and Azure Dev Ops
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in leading technical design sessions and contributing to architectural decisions
- Mentoring experience with junior developers
- Experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment automation
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and prepare appropriate specifications for CESG
- Implement code and develop APIs and services for data processing and manipulation
- Lead team meetings and provide progress reports to management
- Ensure applications meet accessibility and architectural standards
- Conduct unit tests and integration tests
- Document progress and maintain project management tasks in Azure Dev Ops
- Facilitate stakeholder communication and translate technical progress into business language
