About the Opportunity
The Power BI Developer / BI Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for enterprise clients. The individual will lead initiatives around Power BI development, data modelling, and infrastructure management across multiple business domains. This position requires strong technical expertise in Power BI, SQL, and Data Management, along with the ability to work with Microsoft Fabric infrastructure (Warehouse and Lakehouse).

About the Opportunity
The Power BI Developer / BI Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for enterprise clients. The individual will lead initiatives around Power BI development, data modelling, and infrastructure management across multiple business domains. This position requires strong technical expertise in Power BI, SQL, and Data Management, along with the ability to work with Microsoft Fabric infrastructure (Warehouse and Lakehouse).
Key Responsibilities:
BI Design & Development:
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports with optimized DAX and data modeling.
- Develop and maintain data flows using Power Query, ensuring efficiency and consistency across reports.
- Implement and manage ETL pipelines to integrate data from diverse sources into the BI ecosystem.
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric infrastructure, including Warehouse and Lakehouse, for scalable and secure data management.
- Ensure high data quality, consistency, and integrity across reporting layers.
Data Architecture & Management:
- Define and maintain data architecture standards and governance frameworks.
- Work with Data Engineering teams to design efficient data models supporting analytics and reporting needs.
- Monitor and optimize BI performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability.
- Maintain and enhance existing BI infrastructure in alignment with organizational and client needs.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership:
- Collaborate with business users, project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and deliver BI solutions.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead discussions around data-driven decision-making and solution design.
- Mentor and guide junior BI developers on technical skills, coding standards, and best practices.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with emerging BI technologies and tools, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and data architectures to enhance BI efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives for advanced analytics and automation opportunities.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in Business Intelligence development, with a focus on Power BI.
- Strong expertise in Power Query, DAX, and advanced data modelling techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, optimization, and ETL logic development.
- Hands-on experience in Data Management and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, including Warehouse and Lakehouse concepts.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement and business discussions.
Good to Have (Preferred Skills):
- Experience with PySpark or Python for data transformation and automation.
- Exposure to Cognos BI or other enterprise BI platforms.
- Experience with Power Apps and Microsoft ecosystem integration.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Fabric, or SQL Server preferred.
