Computer Programmer, Journeyman

StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking Full-Time, Computer Programmer, Journeyman to join our team at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL. NAWCTSD is the Navy’s principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies. The Computer Programmer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Essential Job Duties:
• The computer programmer will work with a team in a lab environment to develop state of the art, software driven training systems.
• Code, test and debug application enhancements and revisions, along with integrating graphics and user interfaces.
• Create, modify and test the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run.
• Work from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals.
• Analyzing user needs and designing software solutions.
• Develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.
• Comply with Naval Cyber Security Rules and Regulations.
• Comply with Naval software development and maintenance Rules and Regulations.
• Comply with BOL server policies and procedures and configuration control requirements related to software development and maintenance.
• Comply with Naval Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements and regulations.

Experience Requirements:
• 3 or more years of experience with computer programming, UI, data structures, frameworks, and operating systems and platforms.
• Experience with game engines and virtual environments.
• Working knowledge of high level programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, JAVA), scripting (e.g. REACT, Python, JavaScript, VB Script, LUA, XML, ASP, ASP.Net and HTML).
• Networking experience (TCP, UDP), SQL.
• Visual Studio, and client/server applications.
• Demonstrated experience with distributed systems architecture and real-time performance/optimization.
• Experience working with other developers in collaborative efforts. This could include academic, professional, or personal projects/experience.
• Experience working with an interdisciplinary team is preferred.
• Experience with general programming tasks at a Journeyman level, such as designing, implementing, and debugging software.
• Ability to communicate with clarity and correct grammar and mechanics.
• Preferred: Experience with C++, XAML, and speech recognition.
Education and Certification Requirements:
• B.S. in computer engineering, computer science or related technical field with strong emphasis on software programming.
Security Requirements:
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
