Location: West Hollywood, CA 90048
Position: Patient Access Representative
Pay Rate: $24/hr
Duration: 13 weeks
Expected Shift: 8:00am-4:50pm M-F (40 hrs/week)

POSITION IS TEMP AND ON-SITE - May require floating between buildings at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Main Campus)

5×8 HR days and weekend requirements
Registration/Check-in/Front-Office PSR

JOB SUMMARY
Position Responsibilities/Expectations: The candidate will perform a variety of Patient Access activities for patients throughout the Medical Center for Inpatient, Outpatient and/or Emergency Services. The Patient Access Representatives are cross trained to support roles and responsibilities throughout Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Clearance, Referrals, Authorizations, Financial Counseling, and Patient Arrival & Registration. The Patient Access Representative must have thorough knowledge and understanding of insurance policies and procedures to determine insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements, Third Party Liability (TPL), Medi-Cal / Medicare eligibility verification, Workers Compensation eligibility, provide patient estimates, determine patient liability and secure cash deposits (co-pays, deductibles, cash packages). Provides superior customer service through all personal and professional interactions with all customers within the Cedars-Sinai Health System.

Requirements:
  • Minimum: 2 years customer service in healthcare (medical center/hospital) REQUIRED
  • Skills REQUIRED: Previous Hospital/Healthcare experience, Health insurance knowledge, Customer Service, PC Knowledge
  • Skills HIGHLY preferred: Insurance verification, EPIC HER
  • HSD/GED REQUIRED.
