Job Summary
The Testing Technician (PCMM Technician) supports precision inspection and quality assurance activities for aerospace and defense manufacturing programs. This role is responsible for inspecting large-scale mechanical and structural components throughout all stages of machining and assembly using advanced metrology tools such as Romer Arms, Leica Laser Trackers, and handheld or blue light scanners. The technician ensures parts meet engineering and contractual requirements, identifies and documents non-conformances, and collaborates closely with machinists, engineers, and quality teams. The position requires technical proficiency in GD&T and PCMM software, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. A Secret Clearance is required; candidates may start with an interim clearance or must be eligible to obtain one.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections of aerospace and defense hardware, including weldments, integrated assemblies, and tooling, using Romer Arms, Leica Laser Trackers, scanners, and other PCMM tools.
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and GD&T standards.
- Utilize Spatial Analyzer or comparable PCMM software to collect, analyze, and report metrology data.
- Identify and document non-conforming material and communicate findings to production and engineering teams.
- Generate comprehensive inspection documentation including reports, bubble drawings, and certificates of conformance.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and assist in root cause and corrective action processes.
- Maintain, calibrate, and verify the accuracy of measurement and inspection equipment.
- Support quality system compliance with ISO9001, AS9100, and AS9102 requirements.
- Execute and witness test procedures, generate test reports, and ensure inspection traceability per program and customer requirements.
Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required; must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (interim clearance acceptable to start).
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on inspection experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
- At least 4 years of experience using Romer Arms, Leica AT960/AT402 Laser Trackers, AS1 Scanners, or similar PCMM systems.
- Proficiency with Spatial Analyzer or equivalent PCMM software preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009.
- Proficient in standard inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, intra-micrometers, and optical comparators.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications.
- Skilled in preparing detailed, traceable inspection reports and quality documentation.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds and performing tasks requiring fine motor coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inspecting aerospace structures, propulsion components, or tooling in a DoD-compliant environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems and AS9102 First Article Inspection procedures.
- Experience supporting MRB and non-conformance documentation processes.
- Familiarity with AS5553 counterfeit parts prevention standards.
Additional Job Details (Clearance and Assignment Information)
- Interim Secret Clearance acceptable to start; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Six-month assignment with the possibility of extension or full-time conversion.
- Role involves work in a high-precision, production-oriented environment supporting aerospace and defense programs.
