Deployment Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployment Network Engineer to support a company focused on security systems within the DOD. This position is on-site at Lorton, VA. This is a direct-hire opportunity supporting a national leader in secure, resilient power and technology systems. The specialist will assist in network design, deployment, and hands-on implementation of advanced telecommunications and cloud network systems. Responsibilities for the Deployment Network Engineer include:

• Support O&M Network Engineer in technical presentations and infrastructure deployment activities.
• Design and write code for selected customer network systems and assist in implementation.
• Develop documentation and diagrams for network systems and objectives.
• Perform hands-on installation and configuration of network devices and systems.
• Collaborate with Microsoft and customer staff to support technical strategies and objectives.

Required Qualifications for the Deployment Network Engineer include:

• 3-5 years of experience in network engineering technology.
• Expertise in network device configuration, troubleshooting, and CLI navigation.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, WAN/Internet routing (BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN).
• Understanding of cloud networking technologies (ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Networks) and on-prem integration.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
• TS/SCI Clearance

Salary Range: $110,000-$170,000 depending on experience
