Program Overview

Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.

About The Role

Peraton requires Cloud Systems Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located in Stuttgart, Germany and requires TESA approval.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Cloud Systems Administrator is a pivotal role within our IT infrastructure team, providing Tier three systems support in line with the SIE OPORD.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Managing and administering Microsoft Azure environments, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and governance of resources across multiple subscriptions and tenants
  • Analyzing existing operational standards and processes to identify and implement automation and performance improvements using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform
  • Migrating existing infrastructure and applications to Azure-based IaaS and PaaS solutions
  • Implementing and managing Azure security controls, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Policy, and Azure Key Vault
  • Developing and enforcing data protection and backup policies to safeguard against data loss and unauthorized access
  • Supporting the adoption of cloud-native and containerized applications through modernization initiatives and DevSecOps alignment
  • Monitoring performance and capacity to ensure compliance with established SLA and mission readiness standards
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server and Linux operating systems in Azure virtual machines and hybrid environments
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, and service dependencies
  • Maintaining and refining system documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures
  • Integrating cloud operations with SIEM/EDR tools (e.g., Splunk, Defender for Cloud) and enforcing Zero Trust principles across hybrid deployments
  • Supporting hybrid multi-cloud environments by maintaining security protocols, monitoring connectivity, and leveraging management tools such as Azure Arc and Azure Monitor

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience with AS/AA; 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; 7 years with Ph.D.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance is required for this role
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT systems administration experience
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including design, deployment, configuration, and optimization of Azure services
  • Proven experience managing production Windows and Linux servers, applying enterprise-level security and compliance practices
  • Strong understanding of Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, Azure Security Center, and Azure Policy
  • Demonstrated ability in system performance optimization, troubleshooting, and automation within cloud environments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Must meet TESA requirements

Desired Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
  • Experience automating workflows using Ansible and Python
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (AKS, Docker)
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps
  • Experience integrating with Zero Trust architectures and DoD cloud compliance frameworks (IL2/IL4/IL5)

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
