Markon is hiring a Database Engineer to support our Virginia Customer in a matrixed team on several initiatives (Business intelligence/reporting, Data Visulaization, Requirements Management, Change Management, testing and training of a new enterprise business system, and IT roadmap assessment and development).

USD $160,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.

Description
Markon is hiring a Database Engineer to support our Virginia Customer in a matrixed team on several initiatives (Business intelligence/reporting, Data Visulaization, Requirements Management, Change Management, testing and training of a new enterprise business system, and IT roadmap assessment and development).
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance business intelligence (BI) and reporting solutions to support data-driven decision-making.
- Design and build data visualizations and dashboards in Tableau, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Lead and support requirements management, change management, testing, and training activities for the implementation of a new enterprise business system.
- Conduct IT roadmap assessments and support the development of multi-year IT strategies across twelve diverse business units.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.
- Perform ad hoc business and IT analysis tasks, providing timely insights and recommendations.
- Partner with business and technical teams to ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with an active Polygraph
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ relevant years of experience
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data.
- Experience managing requirements for software development or system implementation projects, including stakeholder engagement and documentation.
- Background in business consulting, with the ability to analyze processes and recommend improvements.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and experience supporting enterprise-level initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to create, evaluate, and assess IT roadmaps and align them with organizational strategy.
- Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and reporting (preferred but not essential).
Optional Skills and Experience
- Experience with Working Capital Fund (WCF) operations or accounting principles.
- Knowledge of database design and data modeling concepts.
Salary Range
USD $160,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.
