Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking seasoned Systems Engineers to join our Engineering Center of Excellence supporting confidential, mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. This hands-on role uses Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to shape system architecture, integration, and verification in a collaborative, innovation-driven engineering environment. This position is fully onsite in Owego, NY, and provides a generous relocation package or per diem arrangements.

Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer:
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to develop functional models and system representations
 - Lead and perform trade studies and analyses of alternatives to inform architecture decisions
 - Model and analyze system performance to validate design margins and requirements
 - Design system interfaces and define allocation of functionality across subsystems
 - Support requirements definition, verification, and validation activities
 - Participate in engineering technical reviews and design reviews across the lifecycle
 - Document technical artifacts and maintain engineering data in controlled repositories
 - Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system integration, safety, and compliance
 
Qualifications for the Systems Engineer:
- U.S. Citizenship required
 - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
 - 7+ years of systems engineering experience
 - 5+ years of domain experience in aerospace/defense or closely related industries
 - 3+ years hands-on MBSE experience (e.g., Cameo or similar tools)
 - Familiarity with DO-254 and DO-178 development standards
 - Domain expertise in one or more of: avionic HMI design, glass-style cockpit systems, tactical communications/data links, military navigation systems, embedded mission computing, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), sensor/survivability systems
 
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000-$180,000 (dependent on experience)
