1) Must be familiar with the use and operations of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, electrical tools and test equipment, wiring and pressurized systems;
2) Performing and assists with jobs normally assigned to other trades including pipefitting, mechanics, welding, rigging and machining;
3) Must be able to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints and drawings; and
4) Must be able to travel to preform work onboard U.S. Coast Guard and Naval ships in port and at sea.

- You will install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuit, systems, controls, and equipment associated with aircraft launch and recovery systems equipment aboard naval vessels and shore stations.
 - You will determine and place distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and install wiring, couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, and other electrical devices including electrical service entrances.
 - You will instruct and assist other Voyage Repair Team employees in the fabrication, assembly, repair and testing of ship's electrical equipment in shop, ship, and field environments.
 - You will work from wiring diagrams, manuals, handbooks, and technical directives.
