PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is responsible for training and supporting the training of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers-as well as international partners-who enforce laws, treaties, and regulations in the United States and abroad. Headquartered in Glynco, Georgia, with additional training delivery points in Artesia, New Mexico; Charleston, South Carolina; and Cheltenham, Maryland, FLETC's mission depends on reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems and user support across its nationwide infrastructure.
This program provides comprehensive Information Technology (IT) Delivery and Operations Support Services (DOSS) to sustain FLETC's mission. The Service Desk Lead will play a vital role in managing user support operations, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction across all FLETC locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) Enterprise Support System (ESS) environment to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
- Administer and manage server, database, storage, and security technologies supporting ESS operations.
- Perform regular system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to maintain optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to mission operations.
- Manage ESS system upgrades, patches, and version control in compliance with organizational and Government standards.
- Implement and maintain robust data backup, disaster recovery, and security protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams-including network, system, and database administrators-to ensure seamless ESS integration.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and operating procedures.
- Conduct testing and validation of system enhancements or configuration changes prior to production deployment.
- Provide end-user and technical support, ensuring effective communication and timely issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated expertise in server, database, storage, and security technologies supporting enterprise-level IT systems.
- Proven experience in designing, installing, configuring, and administering complex IT environments.
- Strong ability to upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, and monitor system components across multiple technology layers.
- Hands-on experience managing Windows Server, SQL databases, SAN/NAS storage, and security appliances preferred.
- Proficiency in system documentation, testing procedures, and change management practices.
- Knowledge of federal IT security requirements and best practices highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
DESIRED:
- Cybersecurity professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CSSLP
- Degree in Cybersecurity, Software, or Systems Engineering
