BOOST is seeking a highly skilled, dynamic, hands-on Government Finance & Compliance Senior Consultant to join our internal team and collaborate directly with our government contracting clients. This crucial role will be steering our clients toward success in the competitive government contracting sector!

Job Overview: The Government Finance & Compliance Senior Consultant will serve as the primary advisor on matters related to government financial regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and to support the organization in managing financial risks and optimizing financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization’s financial operations comply with relevant government regulations, including but not limited to OMB Circulars, FAR, DFARS, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Financial Management: Provide expert guidance on financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in accordance with government standards.
  • Audit Preparation: Lead preparation for government audits, including coordinating with external auditors, reviewing financial statements, and addressing audit findings.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government requirements and industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks associated with government contracts and funding and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Training and Support: Conduct training sessions for staff on compliance matters and financial regulations. Serve as a resource for resolving complex compliance issues.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review reports related to financial performance and compliance and provide analysis to senior management to support decision-making.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping practices are maintained in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MPA) or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFM) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of [10] years of experience in government finance, accounting, or compliance roles, with a strong understanding of government financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations, including FAR, DFARS, OMB Circulars, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Attributes:

  • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFM) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with Government Contracts: Experience working with government contracts and funding mechanisms.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Salary Range: $100K-$150K (Salary commensurate with experience)
