Army Metering Program Field Service Representative

Under limited direction, the AMP FSR is responsible for optimization of an energy program's metering and control systems, and for training Energy Specialists on those systems. The FSR works with Facilities and Maintenance Directors to address mechanical and control issues for buildings.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Provide customer support and work with the project engineers, other system engineers, and end-users, to assist in developing cost-effective methods for an efficient Utility Controls design and system solution.
  • Work with essential/key team members to understand their systems requirements to ensure the correct IP infrastructure, points list, critical alarms, and scaling set points are integrated as designed.
  • Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications across multiple protocols including BACnet, Lon, Modbus, and others.
  • Follow QA procedures to ensure quality control performed by others is properly implemented throughout projects.
  • Write detailed daily reports pertaining to jobsite milestones.
  • Perform inspections and testing of Utility Control Systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure all projects are completed on time.
  • Provide on-site system assistance on a commercial or military system.
  • Provide technical assistance with regard to daily operations, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance of military systems.
  • Resolve operational and technical deficiencies within the system.
  • Monitor daily system operations to ensure system performance and data requirements meet specifications.
  • Identify, order, receive, and track parts.
  • Update, refine, maintain, and deliver training material.
  • May serve as a technical liaison between corporate departments, government customer, vendors, and others.
  • May provide leadership to lower-level employees.
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on customer or contractual requirements.

Required Experience

  • • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eight years of related work experience required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain SECRET Security Clearance; US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings.
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and/or OCONUS customer sites.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent attention to details and diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experience with MS Office, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve onsite issues.
  • Ability to act independently and to coordinate the work of other employees and contractors on a customer site.
  • Knowledge/understanding of Utility Control Systems.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams, control diagrams, prints, building operations, and electrical theory.
  • Knowledge of ICS, SCADA, BMS, PLC and Metering systems and how they operate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Field service experience, preferably with the following programs/software: Metasys, Niagara, Rockwell Factory Talk; Tridium; Schneider Electric: Powerlogic/Struxureware; Siemens: Apogee; Ignition: Inductive Automation; Eaton Networks; Field Servers; Jace Controllers; Bacnet.
  • Ability to integrate Sensors and peripheral devices.
  • Ability to program Points and Tags in the HMI.
  • Ability to update firm ware on devices.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed with little, or no, direct supervision. Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors. May require travel to less-desirable locations. Work may require being able to lift, carry, or move items up to approximately forty pounds. Work may require climbing on military equipment. Work will be located onsite at a military site.
