Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated Subsystems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and test of advanced aircraft systems within the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring subsystem performance, airworthiness, and mission readiness across multiple disciplines, including hydraulics, environmental control, fuel, fire protection, landing gear, mechanical mechanisms, and electrical power systems.

Responsibilities:
- Support Subsystems Engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle of the CCA weapon system - from concept development to production and sustainment.
- Provide technical evaluation of contractor subsystem development plans, test procedures, test reports, and engineering change proposals.
- Advise government subsystem engineers on lessons learned, best practices, and technical risk areas to guide sound engineering decisions.
- Assess design and production approaches for value, feasibility, and technical risk; develop and execute risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct and participate in technical reviews, test readiness reviews, and design reviews to ensure design adequacy and performance compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) and Airworthiness processes throughout the system lifecycle.
- Support subsystem testing, analyze test results, and drive resolution of deficiency reports.
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings and documentation to senior government and industry leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in aircraft subsystem design, integration, and testing.
- Strong background in one or more subsystem domains (e.g., hydraulic, fuel, ECS, landing gear, power systems).
- Experience with military aircraft development programs and familiarity with DoD acquisition and airworthiness processes.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate engineering design data, test reports, and contractor deliverables.
- Excellent communication and briefing skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to senior audiences.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
