Our client is seeking a Cloud Security Architect to support the Department of the Treasury as part of a major legacy system modernization initiative. The right candidate will have 6+ years of experience in cloud security architecture, strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, and hands-on knowledge of DevSecOps and Agile environments. This remote position (10% travel) requires U.S. citizenship and offers the opportunity to lead secure cloud design efforts with direct impact on federal modernization.

● U.S. Citizen
● 6+ years of Azure-focused cloud security architecture experience
● Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar
● Microsoft Certifications: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert
● Deep understanding of Azure services (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Azure Policy)
● Hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
● Strong knowledge of Agile delivery and secure SDLC principles
● Familiarity with NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks
● Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities:
● Lead the secure design and implementation of Treasury’s Azure cloud environment
● Provide oversight and guidance to vendor-led cloud modernization teams
● Define and enforce Azure security controls across all cloud services
● Integrate DevSecOps practices and automate security testing in CI/CD pipelines
● Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews
● Maintain up-to-date security standards, policies, and reference architectures
