Description:Performs depot level repairs, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the Modernized Target Designation Sight/Pilotage Night Vision System (M-TADS/M-PNVS).
- Performs repair, rework, fault isolation, troubleshooting, and acceptance test of mechanical, structural, optical subsystems and complete systems.
- Operates automated or general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) and uses knowledge of basic mechanical and optical theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of defective components.
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment to verify compliance to engineering specifications and tolerances
- Setup and operation of conventional milling machine and drill press, to rework or repair mechanical components
- Completes work In accordance with (IAW) engineering drawings, schematics, Repair Center Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins (FABs), and Contactor Installation Procedures (CIPs)
- Documents work in automated maintenance data collection systems IAW Apache Fire Control processes and procedures
- Provides technical feedback on electro-mechanical and electro-optical components to promote reliability improvements
- Works with hazardous materials and chemicals, utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Performs limited supply duties (load/unload trucks), operates overhead hoists.
Specific Description
This job entails identifying and resolving electromechanical technical issues and hardware/software test integration. Responsible for troubleshooting technical problems and issues, determine test solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, analyze data to identify test failures and recommending actions to provide solutions. Responsibilities include interacting with engineering community, design review writing, white paper writing, software/hardware integration/troubleshooting, Engineering Change Board (ECB), Design Assurance Review Boards (DA), and Directors Capital Review Board (DCRB). Recognize opportunities for improvement based on test data. Candidate should have the ability to learn hardware/software and troubleshooting skill sets. Interact with engineers, subcontractors, program managers and customers during the design/development, integration, documentation, and delivery of systems testing hardware and software solutions.
Job is located on site at the ASC (Arizona Support Center) in Gilbert, Arizona.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong Computer Skills including MS Office
- Strong interpersonal communication, planning and writing skills
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience with CCA component rework and repair
- Knowledge of trouble-shooting and fault isolation of components using general purpose and/or automated test equipment
- Knowledge of the operation of general purpose and/or automated test equipment
- Knowledge of the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures
- Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications and industry processes
- Knowledge of automated and/or general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) used in a depot
- Knowledge of fault isolation for electro-mechanical and electro-optical components
- Knowledge of concepts for hardware repair
- Knowledge of industrial and aircraft maintenance safety standards
