SAP Basis Administration Consultant 
Connsci is seeking an SAP Basis Administration Consultant to provide enterprise-level SAP technical and operational support for the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Prison Industries (FPI). The consultant will serve as the primary technical lead responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the FPI SAP landscape, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, and Solution Manager, hosted in AWS GovCloud. This role supports a mission-critical environment enabling FPI’s manufacturing, logistics, and financial operations across the Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
In this role you can expect to:
• Perform full lifecycle SAP Basis administration, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning for SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, and Solution Manager systems.
• Manage SAP HANA database operations, system refreshes, transport management, and backup/recovery activities to maintain high availability.
• Oversee disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning, including replication and migration of SAP systems between AWS GovCloud regions.
• Maintain compliance with DOJ and FISMA security requirements, applying STIGs and supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation.
• Administer SAP user roles, profiles, Single Sign-On (SSO), and SSL certificates, ensuring secure access control for both staff and inmate users.
• Collaborate with FPI’s MISB Chief and COR to document system changes, track performance metrics, and produce weekly technical status reports.
• Identify automation opportunities to streamline patching, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
• Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and technical documentation to strengthen internal FPI SAP capabilities.
• Coordinate with application owners, security teams, and AWS engineers to troubleshoot incidents and implement corrective actions.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6–8 years of experience supporting SAP Basis Administration in enterprise federal or DoD environments.
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA, NetWeaver, and AWS GovCloud deployments.
• Working knowledge of Linux OS administration, STIG compliance, RMF, and FISMA frameworks.
• Experience with database backup/recovery, system monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with federal stakeholders.
Certifications Required/Preferred:
• Required: SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration (Basis) preferred
• Preferred: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect
• Security: CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher)
• Clearance: DOJ Public Trust (minimum), subject to BOP background investigation (fingerprinting, NCIC, urinalysis)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience supporting DOJ, BOP, or federal law enforcement agencies.
• Familiarity with OpenText, PBS, and ShipERP integrations.
• Demonstrated success sustaining secure, high-availability SAP environments in the federal space.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills with an automation mindset.
 
Work Schedule & Travel: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday (telework with one in-office day per week)
