Position Title: Configuration Management II
Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), Philadelphia, PA
Clearance Requirement: Department of Defense Secret Clearance (Active or Interim)
Work Schedule: Forty hour work week schedule with some overtime allowed. Approximately 95% on-site at NSWCPD; up to 5% travel as required.
Contingency: This position is contingent upon contract award
Background:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is the Navy’s Center for Excellence for ships and ship systems, providing full-spectrum research, development, testing, evaluation, and fleet support for both surface and undersea vehicles. NSWCPD serves as NAVSEA’s primary Land Based Engineering Test Site (LBTS), conducting diagnostics and evaluations of emerging and prototype systems. The Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) at NSWCPD requires contractor support to execute business operations functions critical to program success, including financial, logistics, and technical support.
Responsibilities:
The Configuration Management Specialist II will:
• Maintain and control all hardware, software, and documentation configurations in support of CTF operations.
• Support the Configuration Control Board in evaluating, approving, and implementing product changes.
• Establish and maintain procedures for product release throughout the entire life cycle.
• Provide guidance on change management, product configuration management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, logistics, financial management, and training support, to ensure configuration compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Assist with metrics, documentation, and records management to support program objectives and reporting requirements.
• Support planned maintenance and other configuration management activities in alignment with CTF operational goals.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in configuration management, including hardware/software configuration control, product release, and change management.
• Demonstrated experience working with Configuration Control Boards or similar governance structures.
• Strong knowledge of configuration management principles, procedures, and documentation practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily on-site at NSWCPD (approximately 95%), with limited travel (approximately 5%) expected.
