Position Title: Quality Control Specialist II
Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), Philadelphia, PA
Clearance Requirement: Department of Defense Secret Clearance (Active or Interim)
Work Schedule: Forty hour work week schedule with some overtime allowed. Approximately 95% on-site at NSWCPD; up to 5% travel as required.
Contingency: This position is contingent upon contract award
Background:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is the Navy’s Center for Excellence for ships and ship systems, providing full-spectrum research, development, testing, evaluation, and fleet support for both surface and undersea vehicles. NSWCPD serves as NAVSEA’s primary Land Based Engineering Test Site (LBTS), conducting diagnostics and evaluations of emerging and prototype systems. The Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) at NSWCPD requires contractor support to execute business operations functions critical to program success, including financial, logistics, and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Specialist II will perform tasks aligned with the Contractor’s support of NSWCPD’s CTF Business Operations, including but not limited to:
• Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) plans, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational and contractual requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate processes across programmatic, financial, records management, and maintenance functions to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Identify, document, and track discrepancies, non-conformances, and corrective actions, working with program personnel to implement resolutions.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and configuration management efforts to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support metrics development and reporting to track quality performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and records management in alignment with NSWCPD and NAVSEA standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing QA/QC guidance and expertise to support operational objectives.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: High School Diploma, GED, trade/industrial school graduate, or related military experience.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control, including drafting and implementing QA plans and documentation.
• Working knowledge of Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), and Fleet organizations is desired.
