Senior Director of International Business Development is responsible for driving the growth and expansion of a company's business in international markets by developing and implementing strategies to identify new business opportunities, establish partnerships and alliances, and drive revenue growth in Asia.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's international government contracting business.
- Conduct market research to identify potential international government contracting opportunities and partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with international government agencies, contractors, and distributors.
- Build and maintain relationships with U.S. government agencies and offices supporting international sales efforts per country, associated with U.S. Embassy Country Teams, the Security Cooperation enterprise, and the Program Executive Offices.
- Negotiate and close international government contracting deals, including contracts and partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of international government contracting initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with international government contracting regulations, laws, and standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve international government contracting processes and strategies.
- Monitor and report on international government contracting trends, competitive activity, and economic indicators.
- Supports and ready to lead AEVEX's initiatives in U.S. federal government contracting business, especially in support of the U.S. Joint Force and other U.S. agencies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].

- Ability to translate security cooperation and international experience to any region and country.
- Ability to negotiate business-to-business arrangements with foreign companies to support overseas manufacturing and co-production that favor AEVEX's strategy and terms.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with international government agencies, contractors, and partners.
- In-depth knowledge of Direct Commercial Sales and Foreign Military Sales, including U.S. grant funded processes
- Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and U.S. agencies supporting policy implementation and licensing approvals
- Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Security Assistance
- Management Manual and other relevant U.S. government contracting regulations--and for each, a willingness to become an expert.
- Willingness to learn and capability to master ally/partner procurement processes and law especially for Direct Commercial Sales.
- No reservations travelling internationally frequently to any U.S. ally and partner in any continent while following Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) policy.

Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, international relations, or related field.
- Master's degree in international relations or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Mandarin for technical discussions preferred, fluency desired.
Experience
- 10+ Military experience including 5+ years of experience in international business development or security cooperation (Defense Attache Office, Security Cooperation Office, and/or security cooperation staff assignments) -- with a proven track record of success.
- Experience as a U.S. military Foreign Area Officer -- or similar US government role -- with experience in both U.S. Embassy and Combatant Command (or Component) staffs
- Corporate success in International BD with above experiences is advantageous.
