Credence is currently looking for a skilled Senior Database Administrator with expertise in Google technologies. This role involves overseeing all tasks associated with the management of computerized databases. It requires collaborating with other managers in the information systems department to project long-term database administration and design needs. The Administrator will design, create, and maintain databases in a client/server environment, ensuring quality control and auditing practices to guarantee precise and proper data utilization.

Credence is currently looking for a skilled Senior Database Administrator with expertise in Google technologies. This role involves overseeing all tasks associated with the management of computerized databases. It requires collaborating with other managers in the information systems department to project long-term database administration and design needs. The Administrator will design, create, and maintain databases in a client/server environment, ensuring quality control and auditing practices to guarantee precise and proper data utilization.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to users regarding access to various client/server databases.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex databases, focusing on aspects such as JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methodologies.
- Application of knowledge and experience with various database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end/backend programming languages (e.g., SQL).
- Responsibilities include performing database programming and providing support for systems design, along with maintaining database dictionaries, monitoring standards and procedures, managing file design and storage, and integrating systems through effective database design.
- Design, implement, and maintain Google Cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, Firestore) to meet business and technical requirements.
- Administer and optimize existing cloud database environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues promptly by using Google Cloud built-in monitoring tools (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging).
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with federal guidelines, maintaining data privacy and integrity.
- Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient data models and query architectures for optimized performance.
- Perform data migrations, backups, and restorations following best practices to ensure data continuity and recoverability.
- Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior database administrators and support staff.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and Google Cloud database features to ensure system performance and longevity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 7+ years of experience
- Five (5) years of progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, and SQL Server.
- Three (3) years of hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems. Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Monitoring (OEM 13c) database monitoring, diagnostic, and performance tuning tools
- Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.
- SECRET Level Clearance
Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT II (i.e Security+, SSCP, etc.)
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer OR Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Additional CSP certification
