Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Radiography/CT NDT Technician possessing a level 2 RT Certification to support our Armament Systems Business Unit located in Plymouth, MN.
This site develops and produces medium- and large-caliber ammunition as well as precision capabilities for direct and indirect fire systems. Leading the industry, this team successfully completes lifecycle support for medium-caliber cannons, develops miniature, precision strike weapons for airborne platforms, creates survivability solutions for soldiers and the next generation tactical ammunition for a variety of combat platforms
Position Summary:
The development of smart armament systems, designed to increase the competitive advantage of our armed forces, is accelerating. This has increased the need for a non-destructive test technician who has a passion for technology development, paired with demonstrated expertise in customer service excellence. For this position, technicians are required to provide prior NDT experience documentation and certification that will meet NAS 410 current revision requirements. This team member will drive to continually outperform the competition and exceed customer expectations while acting with integrity and respect.
The technician will primarily utilize computed tomography technologies to provide inspection service support to the design team here in Plymouth.
This position can be filled Radiography/CT NDT Technician Level 2 or 3, as it relates to the candidate's level and years of experience and/or education.

Primary Level Salary Range: $51,900.00 - $86,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $61,700.00 - $102,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities:
- Support design activities through computed tomography scans, acquisition, and analysis
- Evaluate and interpret scans and document those determinations
- Obtain and maintain Level II certification in the radiography inspection method which includes formal classroom training, on-the-job training, and written and practical exams for the method and level. Must complete retesting at specified intervals to retain certifications
- Form close working relationships to understanding the whole system function and present analyses to the design community in an insightful and timely manner
- 3D print fixtures for the CT Machine
- Receive guidance, coaching, and training from a certified Level 3 NDT Technician
Basic Qualifications:

- High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of additional education and/or relevant experience
- Meet the NAS 410 requirements for Certified Level 2 in Radiography
- Excellent computer competency with the ability to use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) as well as image processing.
- Must have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT methods

- Perform physical requirements of this position including lifting 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of aerospace experience in a quality organization
- Experience using and maintaining Nikon CT systems
- Experience with VGStudio or other similar CT reconstruction software
- Experience with engineering drawings and specification interpretation
- Experience with mechanical ordnance components, electrical components including printed circuit cards as well as explosive and energetic components.
