Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph cleared Junior Systems Accountant to support a federal government customer at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in Washington, D.C. The Junior Systems Accountant will provide accounting, financial reporting, and internal control support in alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) and federal accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced accounting professionals supporting critical national defense financial operations.

Responsibilities for the Junior Systems Accountant:
- Support senior accounting personnel in performing accounting functions, reconciliations, and financial data analysis.
- Compile and analyze large and complex financial data sets using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, and advanced reporting).
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of Federal Financial Statements and Agency Financial Reports.
- Support the compilation and review of Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR) and other federal budgetary financial statements.
- Provide assistance in applying the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), OMB A-136, Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR).
- Assist with property accounting and reporting in compliance with DoD property management policies and SFFAS requirements.
- Support audit readiness and internal control activities, including OMB A-123, ICOFR, and ICOFS testing and documentation.
- Participate in financial systems analysis and improvement initiatives.
- Provide support for risk assessments, tests of design, tests of effectiveness, and other internal control review processes.
- Collaborate with team members to support ongoing Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) activities.
Qualifications for the Junior Systems Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (required).
- 0-3 years of relevant accounting experience (federal or DoD preferred).
- Working knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards, including USSGL and OMB A-136.
- Familiarity with DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR) and the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros, and complex formulas).
- Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (required).
Desired Skills for the Junior Systems Accountant:
- Understanding of Federal Financial Reporting and budget execution processes.
- Experience with DoD property accounting and reporting requirements.
- Exposure to internal controls and audit support, including OMB A-123 and FISCAM.
- Knowledge of IPERIA, Statement of Assurance preparation, and testing of IT controls and Complementary User Entity Controls (CUECs).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential (preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Compensation for the Junior Systems Accountant:
- Pay Range: $79,157 - $105,000 (based on experience and education)
- Benefits: Cigna medical, dental, vision, 401(k), 2+ weeks PTO, and 11 Federal Holidays
