Job Description
Position is contingent upon contract award and funding.
Sev1Tech is looking for a Senior Backup Engineer to support a team providing enterprise IT operations support for a DHS customer.
The project is focused on infrastructure management and operations - e.g., monitoring, incident response, cybersecurity, system administration, patching, unified communications, hosting - with an emphasis on automation to:
Minimize manual intervention, improve efficiency, and reduce human errors Implement platforms that orchestrate work-flows for end-to-end task execution Utilize AI as well as predictive analytics to detect anomalies, predict failures, and initiate self-healing processes to reduce downtime and improve system resilience

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in backup administration support for large scale environments specifically including:
- 10 years' experience installing and configuring backups
- Working knowledge of advanced backup tools
- 10 years' experience writing scripts with a scripting language
- Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes
- Familiarity with on-premise or Cloud to Cloud backup migrations
- Working knowledge of data base backup and restore on NetBackup, Backup Exec, and VEEAM
