Position Overview

Creek Technologies pending contract reward with Brooke Army Medical Center is seeking an experienced Database Engineer - Level III to design, implement, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) in support of mission-critical operations. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, independent problem-solving, and the ability to oversee complex database projects, ensuring performance, security, and reliability across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, test, upgrade, and integrate new or existing database management systems in alignment with business requirements.
  • Document all aspects of database engineering, including build, configuration, testing, deployment, and change management.
  • Coordinate implementation of new database platforms, upgrades, or version increments with database administrators and stakeholders.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement database security measures to safeguard data and systems.
  • Perform DBMS modeling, analysis, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to evaluate emerging database technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
  • Assist database administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and coordinate vendor support as needed.
  • Provide operational and administrative support for deployed database systems in lab or production environments.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain database structures and administration tools using languages such as PL/SQL, T-SQL, Visual Basic, or Oracle Forms.
  • Apply advanced expertise to multiple complex assignments, working with senior technical staff to complete high-impact projects.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Level II or junior database engineers.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in database engineering, demonstrating increasing responsibility and technical proficiency.
  • Certifications:
    • IAT II: Must meet DoD 8570.01-M certification requirements.
    • CE: Professional-level certification for supported database technologies, such as:
      • Microsoft MCSE: Data Management and Analytics (or most recent version), or equivalent
      • Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Professional (or most recent version), or equivalent
  • Security Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (T3) background investigation.
