The Opportunity Research Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Technatomy's federal business development and capture activities. This entry-level position provides both lead and support functions in research, data management, and coordination across the opportunity lifecycle - from early identification through proposal submission. The Analyst works directly for the Director of Strategic Growth and works closely with the executive leadership to strengthen the organization's opportunity pipeline, teaming strategy, and knowledge management systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Research and Discovery: Lead the research and analysis of new business opportunities using platforms such as SAM.Gov, GSA eBuy, GovWin, FPDS, USASpending, and others.
  • Opportunity Storyboarding: Build and maintain detailed opportunity storyboards or project books summarizing incumbent data, requirements, and background (TCV, PoP, RFI dates, RFP date, Set-a-Side, subcontractors, Government POCs, and similar data).
  • Process & Template Development: Develop standardized templates, tools, and repeatable processes to improve the efficiency of research, capture, and reporting activities.
  • Knowledge Management: Lead and maintain the growth repositories, including establishing RFI/proposal folders, ensuring document accuracy, and managing content accessibility.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate, analyze, and distribute weekly and monthly pipeline and partner reports that support informed leadership decisions. Present research results to executive leadership routinely.
  • Partner and Capability Data: Develop and maintain visual partner capabilities and evaluation analysis that enhance business development, capture, and proposal strategies.
  • Partner Coordination: Coordinate follow-up meetings with teaming partners; assist with NDAs, TAs, and other pre-award documentation.
  • CRM Management: Enter, validate, and update data in the company's CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365); maintain accuracy of partner, opportunity, and capture information.
  • BD and Capture: Assist in researching competitors, developing capture plans, and supporting early proposal readiness activities.
  • Proposal Support: Support proposal efforts including developing outlines, schedules, calendars, data calls, and content research; assist with formatting, graphics, and desktop publishing, as approved by supervisor.
  • Meeting Coordination: Schedule internal pipeline meetings, gate reviews; prepare agendas, notes, and briefing materials.
  • Administrative Coordination: Draft and distribute internal and external communications, including documentation, data, memos, and briefing documents.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Strong analytical, research and data management skills
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration, and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn and navigate CRM tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and eager to learn.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
  • Familiarity with the federal acquisition lifecycle ("Big A") and procurement portals (SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, FPDS and others).
  • Exposure to APMP or Shipley business development and capture methodologies.
  • Experience using tools such as GovWin, GovDash, or knowledge management tools.
  • Prior work experience in a federal contracting or business development environment.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Administration, Public Health, Communications, or related fields.

CLEARANCE:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
