The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Quality Control Manager - Department of Defense. The Quality Control Manager leads the program's quality system for Industrial Control Systems that include UMCS, HVAC controls and DDC, SCADA, Fire Alarm Systems, Electronic Security Systems, metering, and related life safety and force protection technologies. The QCM develops and maintains the corporate Quality Control Plan and site-specific QC plans, executes the three-phase inspection process (preparatory, initial, follow-up), manages submittals and material verification, oversees testing and commissioning, tracks deficiencies and corrective actions, and ensures delivery of compliant work products. The role partners with project management, engineering, safety, and cybersecurity to achieve cost, schedule, quality, and compliance objectives in support of a Department of Defense mission.

Skills & Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- Seven (7) to 10 years of relevant experience in the quality control field, including five years serving as a Quality Control Manager.
- Demonstrated QC leadership on controls, life safety, or electronics projects involving UMCS, ESS, FAS, SCADA, or HVAC DDC.
- Hands-on execution of the three-phase inspection methodology with complete documentation and meeting minutes.
- Proficiency developing and implementing Quality Control Plans, inspection and test plans, checklists, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with factory and site testing, integrated system testing, and commissioning for control systems.
- Working knowledge of applicable criteria and codes, including UFGS, UFC, EM 385-1-1, NFPA 70 and 72, IBC/IFC, and applicable industry standards.
- Ability to manage Corrective Action Requests, root cause analysis, and preventive action to prevent recurrence.
- Familiarity with configuration control, as built documentation, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for QC reporting and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to travel to active project sites, including secure facilities.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Prior QC experience on federal task order contracts for UMCS, ESS, SCADA, HVAC controls, fire alarm, or related systems.
- ASQ certifications such as CQA or CMQ/OE, or commissioning credentials such as CxA.
- NICET certification in fire alarm or electronic security.
- Experience leading quality audits and supplier quality oversight.
- Familiarity with ICS cybersecurity touchpoints during design, implementation, and acceptance aligned to NIST guidance for operational technology.
- Lean or Six Sigma training.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a related field or in the project's functional area.
Preferred Education
- Advanced degree or additional formal training in quality management, engineering, or related discipline.
Clearance
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Travel
- Minimum 25% to job sites CONUS and OCONUS as required by task orders.
