Summary:

DAS is seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer- recent college graduates are highly encouraged to apply! This is an excellent opportunity to launch your engineering career by supporting Department of Defense projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, testing, and integration in support of Army systems. Candidates must be able to work onsite full-time and hold an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:
  • Support design, modeling, and analysis of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to assist in integration and interface management between subsystems.
  • Participate in testing and validation of system components, including instrumentation setup, data collection, and results analysis.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation consistent with DoD and program requirements.
  • Support prototype fabrication, integration, and troubleshooting of test articles and systems.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering reports, design documentation, and test plans.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings (TIMs), design reviews, and program status briefings.
  • Ensure adherence to configuration management, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, and logistics engineers to support integrated solutions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite at APG, MD (5 days/week).
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience, including internships or cooperative education in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering roles.
  • Foundational understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles, including system integration, component design, and analysis.
  • Experience with engineering design and analysis tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated attention to technical detail.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication for technical documentation and collaboration.
