Responsibilities

LMI is seeking a skilled Senior Supply Chain Management Consultant/Governance and Posture Lead onsite at the United States Transportation Command located at Scott Air Force Base, IL. Successful LMI Senior Supply Chain Management Consultant/Governance and Posture Leads demonstrate competency in the Joint Strategic Planning System (on joint staff, service headquarters staff, major commands, agency, and/or combatant command staffs. This candidate will have the ability to create and maintain internal and external strategies and be able to clearly understand and link concepts across a wide range of guidance. The candidate will review issuances and assist in authoring regulations and policy documents in support of strategic command narratives. The candidate will be responsible for assessing products and guidance for gaps and inconsistencies and provide useful comments and recommendations. The candidate will be capable of translating guidance into actionable initiatives while developing processes and methodologies to improve the integration of activities into command strategic planning and capability development cycles.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Responsible for the administration and execution of the Joint Petroleum Enterprise Governance Structure
  • Management of the 1-2 Star Executive Committee, 0-6 level Steering Group, and 6 Working Groups
  • Establish meeting schedules and manage attendees
  • Coordinate meeting agendas with Div Chief and Working Group Leads
  • Develop meeting briefings
  • Oversee/tracks due outs from various meetings
  • Create and distributes meeting minutes
  • Maintains knowledge management site for Governance documentation
  • Provide recommendations on process improvement within the Governance Structure
  • Support projects analyzing existing system-support supply chains (including, inventory management, maintenance, and distribution) in government organizations such as the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Provide consulting services on DoD logistics strategy and supply chain materiel management policy and guidance related to bulk fuel, with particular focus on wholesale and retail level inventory management processes, policies, performance measurement and analysis.
  • Support and lead projects analyzing and making improvement recommendations on existing system-support supply chains at both the wholesale and retail levels
  • Provide support for inventory management, provisioning, distribution, and packaging principles, concepts, policies and processes to ensure enterprise wide efficient, cost effective end-to-end logistics performance.
  • Support progress in correcting audit findings and material weaknesses in Inventory, Operating Material & Supplies, and Requisitioning.;
  • Support inventory and distribution business ideas, innovative solutions, and alternatives that will improve business practices and decision making.
  • Review and monitor Defense Components Supply Working Capital Funds programming and budgeting requirements.
  • Analyze and assess logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for the successful maintenance and update of supply chain issuances and policies to include:
  • Provide program management support, perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for all levels of DoD leadership, and conduct research in support of DoD logistics strategy and supply chain initiatives.
  • Prepare and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline
  • 10+ plus years' experience in DoD bulk fuel, logistics, and/or supply chain management.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the Secret level. You must be a US citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS
  • US military command level leadership in bulk fuel or related career field
  • Combatant command or service headquarters experience
  • Master's degree (Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred)
