Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Electromechanical Engineer - Level 3 to support our team in Boulder, CO .
Position Summary/Responsibilities :
Supports the design, development, and analysis of Ground Station requirements spanning several programs. Implements Hardware (HW), and Hardware support infrastructure systems associated with Ground Based Systems architecture and communications infrastructure. Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications. Provide engineering support to engineering teams for research, development, test and sustainment of military ground systems. Specifically provide expertise in a variety of power production, electrical, HVAC, military transport and High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) systems that implement Hardness Critical Items (HCI). Evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering. Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders. Examines, measures, inspects and tests defective parts for conformance. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective actions. Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electromechanical systems. Provides coordination and oversight of subcontractor activates both prior to site activities and direct activities while they perform required tasks at both Northrop Grumman and government sites. May conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with Masters; 1 year of relevant experience with PhD
- Active Top Secret-level Security Clearance
- Experience with HW, test equipment, technical troubleshooting, and problem solving
- Experience with engineering drawings and technical manuals, and the use thereof for operating, maintenance and troubleshooting equipment
- Experience with building and executing procedures validating MIL-STD-188-125-2 requirements
- Experience with Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) tools preferable Siemens based products
- Experience with planning and conducting Physical Configuration Audits on program configuration items
- Experience with producing drawings that adhere to AMSE Y14.100 standards
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in using configuration management software tools and systems.
- Familiarity with functional analysis, detailed studies, interface definition to translate system requirements into subsystem specifications
- Familiarity with integration, installation, test, and documentation of new and/or modified capabilities into complex systems.
- Familiarity with hand tools and test equipment, and the use thereof
- Ability to travel between 10 and 25% of the year
- Ability to work independently with multi-disciplined teams within the program
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
