Description:The Strategic Initiatives and Advocacy team (SIA), which reports to the Vice President for Global Programs and Policy at Lockheed Martin Government Affairs (LMGA), is responsible for driving LMGA strategy and external strategic engagement on complex, cross-cutting priorities for Lockheed Martin.
The Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Analysis, reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of strategic engagement campaigns and cross-cutting defense priorities with key external third parties, to include scoping required research and analysis, messaging, writing, events coordination, and relationship administration.
This is an exciting position for a process-focused policy thinker with an interest in complex concepts defining the future of U.S. defense policy, including emerging technology, industrial base challenges, and reforms to improve effectiveness of the joint force.
Additional core duties include the following:
• Identify and coordinate proactive opportunities to enhance credible understanding of LM's and the defense industry's overall priorities with key third parties. Third parties are defined as including but not limited to think tanks, experts, influencers, advocacy organizations (non-trade), FFRDCs, and other organizations as directed.
• Coordinate LMGA cross-team analysis, narrative efforts, and advocacy on pertinent and politically sensitive policy and programmatic issues.
• Support LMGA Strategic Advocacy Campaigns from the joint and integrated perspective, leveraging public, Joint, and third-party views to inform and advance the campaigns.
• Support and manage the annual SIA think tank partnership program, including drafting agreements and processing corporate contributions.
• Plan and administer engagement opportunities with key think tanks and experts.
• Coordinate and manage efforts to engage with key internal LM stakeholders across LMGA, lines of business, and corporate headquarters in support of key business and strategic objectives.
• Represent LM at key external third party events in Washington, DC and domestically to include major industry and policy events.
• Engage as-needed with U.S. Government and defense leaders in support of the corporation's policy goals and programmatic interests.
• Coordinate via matrixed support with communications, legislative affairs, and other LMGA mission team to ensure alignment and effectiveness of messaging and outreach on key program portfolios and policies.
• Integrate an international perspective into domestically focused engagements efforts and work closely with international teams to coordinate global activities.
Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Advanced understanding of and relationships with think tank, policy, and U.S. government stakeholders.
• Advanced understanding of, or experience in, the U.S. Government and the defense industry.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience staffing senior leadership.
• Willingness and ability to proactively network with diverse groups.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Degree in a related field.
Desired Skills:
Experience working in a think tank or Executive Branch considered a plus.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
