As part of the AWS Infrastructure organization, Dedicated Infrastructure Planning and Delivery (DIPD) plans and builds secure infrastructure for government customers.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Herndon, VA or Seattle, WA to help further optimize Capacity.

This is a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) role responsible for working across the entire AWS Organization to own the planning and forecasting process related to rack landings and capacity delivery, and related optimization efforts which establish capacity plans, and work across AWS to manage strategic execution, while implementing process innovations and improvements to continuously evolve forecasting models. You will conduct modeling and scenario analysis and make data-driven recommendations that inform capacity and capital expenditure decisions, and take relevant actions. You will partner with key stakeholders to bridge position changes affecting demand, address related short and long-term capacity constraints, and write supporting documentation for related capital expenditures. You will drive accountability across the infrastructure organization and develop monitoring mechanisms and escalate any risks to the health of the infrastructure business up thru the organization, including executive leadership.

A successful candidate enjoys problem solving, is comfortable discovering, accessing, and working with data from multiple sources, is passionate about building and improving highly accurate and robust forecasting and delivery models, and is enthusiastic about partnering with other teams across the business to deliver results. They are adept at working with remote partners and stakeholders to deliver novel and sometimes pioneering solutions; building data-driven business cases for supply proposals; identifying, assessing, and mitigating downstream risk; troubleshooting unforeseen and time-critical planning issues as they arise; and dealing with persistent uncertainty, pitfalls, and change to meet peculiar and unfamiliar requirements.

Up to 15% domestic and international travel may be necessary to assess and maintain working knowledge of the infrastructure and impactful upstream and downstream processes.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage near-term (0-2 year) data center capacity and infrastructure, including migration coordination, inventory management, network requirements, and resource optimization.
- Optimize allocation of data center resources to support growth for US-based AWS ADC contracts.
- Streamline reporting, benchmark forecasting assumptions and highlight key supportability risks for stakeholders.
- Monitor and optimize power and space utilization across facilities.
- Analyze planning models to identify risks and opportunities, resolving constraints through demand and supply owner negotiation.
- Develop and implement scalable processes while identifying and mitigating business risks.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from operational teams to executive leadership.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
- Experience with rack lineups, power variation, GPU selection

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
