Job Description
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems at USAF sites in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. This position requires a high level of expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Survey and Inspection:
o Inspect electrical components, such as power panels, conduit pathways, circuit breakers and grounding systems.
o Identify electrical systems using a variety of testing devices.
• Safety and Compliance:
o Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code.
o Work with blueprints and diagrams of circuits and wiring to complete inspections.
• Testing and Inspections:
o Conduct resistance testing and documentation of existing ground systems.
o Conduct power panel load testing.
o Analyze and interpret test data to diagnose malfunctions.
o Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Customer Service:
o Communicate effectively with clients and team.
o Provide detailed and accurate reports on inspections performed.
o Offer guidance on the proper usage of electrical systems and appliances to clients.
Qualifications:
• Education and Certification:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training program.
o Valid Journeyman Electrician License.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician.
o Proven experience working with electrical systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings.

• Skills:
o Strong understanding of electrical code requirements and safety standards.
o Proficient with electrical equipment and hand tools.
o Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
o Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
