Job Description
The Building People are seeking a qualified Mid-Level Application Developer to support immediate IBM Maximo solution delivery as well as other COTS solution technologies to support a growing portfolio of federal government, local government, non-profit, and commercial customers - all while operating remotely.
At The Building People, an Application Developer primarily performs software development, integration, and administration tasks related to the delivery of technology solutions and services. As skills allow, they may perform tasks such as project management, business analysis, user training, technical writing, data entry, or more. They may guide and assist Solution Analysts, Solution Support Specialists, and others. This technical and hands-on position requires work both within a team as well as individual work settings contributing to all aspects of solution implementation and support for assigned customers. Some out-of-town travel may be required, as projects dictate.

Job Description

Responsibilities
Task Execution
- Provide direct consulting services in assisting with implementation and business transformation as it relates to Maximo for an enterprise solution merging the capabilities of Maximo Application Suite (MAS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features and functionality.
- Customize and/or Enhance applications, including GUI development/customization, report development, and script development.
- Data map, manipulate, and migrate various database systems and enterprise applications.
- Debug software and correct defects to assure quality of deliverables before execution of User Acceptance Testing.
- Support off-hour and on-call duties, as needed.
- Participate in planning and requirements gathering sessions.
- Resolve technical support issues when escalated.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot applications in local, staging, and production environments.
- Manage source code and revisions/changes using GIT and other related technologies.
- Apply technical knowledge and subject matter experience to complete assigned tasks on time, within budget, and respecting the scope provided.
- Collaborate with team members on configuration needs.

Technical
- Minimum of 5 years of experience:
- Working as an Application Developer.
- Developing within the Maximo application.
- Implementing, deploying and upgrading the Maximo application.
- Working with IBM Maximo Builder Tools (BO /Form /Workflow /Associations etc.) and Integration tools (DI /IO/DC/OSLC).
- Working with Maximo Workflows and BIRT Reporting.
- Working with one or more industry-leading database platforms, preferably both relational and non-relational systems (DB2 preferred).
- Experience with System Development Life Cycle methodologies and/or Software Development Methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Proficient in IBM Maximo Development tools.
- Ability to interpret documented requirements and communicate with technical (software) teams.
- Ability to work with maintenance technicians, stakeholders, and technical staff.
General
- Minimum of 1 year successfully working from home office or remote location, with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, Kanban, and other industry tools.
- Experience in workplace management, facilities assessment and management, lease administration, project management, and/or other real property management.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidance.
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment, both within the immediate team and broader group, with the common goal of a successful project.
